90 Points

Friday, July 6, 2018 - Duroche is a fine producer with youthful appeal. As noted 7 months ago, the wine is closing a bit and now just re-emerging. Tte nose is wonderfully simple yet elegant:starwberry and cherry with woody scents and a bit of earth. The color has deepened a little and the palate coaxes a lot of forest floor and brambly flavors with tannins shedding after 30 minutes. True dark red fruit is evident, but not in a sweet or sharply defined way. Definitely one to hold for 1-2 years. The early bottles were fresh and there seems to be enough stuffing to hope for a fuller experience in the future.
