94 Points

Friday, May 1, 2020 - PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass ("Fruit" day): Bright ruby with purplish tints.

Elegant wild petite red and blue berry fruits. Very airy and ethereal indeed. For me this has the signature smoke + dried leafy + sous bois notes from the vintage. This is delivering good depth with secondary notes on top layer with the underlying fruits. Reductive notes upfront that blew off quickly. One of the top nose from Burgundies at this age in my view.

Great follow-through on the palate especially on the more detailed blue / black berry fruity flavours with peels providing extra depth and energy. Super suave tannins here. A complete wine already.

This is noticeably 'better' overall in terms of depth and layers of nose and flavours than the last bottle tried about 1 year ago. Will clearly be an even greater bottle in another 5-10 years, but I always believe the 2013 vintage burgundies in the hands of top producer would be amazingly enjoyable at relatively early age.

93-94 points to me.

1 hour upon opening, 1/3 left: Retaining its characters per above as expected. I would retain this at 93-94 points, but overall more towards 94 points now for its drinkability.
