Vosne Romanee tasting (Utregs Wijnhuis): Medium(-?) intensity on the nose with forest floor, red fruit, cranberry, a bit more fruit with some time. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins, medium finish. 88-89
A bit simple. From 90 year old vines, 40% new wood. A bit disappointed with todays showing

This was wonderful - light and airy and red fruit dominant upon opening, but this slowly gained some weight and the fruit spectrum got a bit darker. After about 1.5 hours of air it also got a bit sweeter as well, and settled into a lovely balance. Really enjoyable wine, drinking extremely well at the moment and what I would call a benchmark village Vosne.
Will keep at this level for a few years at least, but wouldn't hesitate to drink up if you enjoy freshness and clear fruit. Amazing treat from M - thanks for sharing!

Dense red and black fruit with a touch of violets and umami. Feels less ready than the wonderful drinking 2012 vintage (or 09 also) but qualitatively very good also but feels like the acidity needs to tame down a bit - the stuffing is definitely here. Drink 2023+

From my Zalto Bourgogne glass: Beautiful nose of mainly black fruit with a lot of spice, on the palate less intoxicating, some green elements, drinking well, nose was at 93, palate at 89.

PnP but definitely benefitting from time in the glass.
Attractive and inviting nose with blue fruit, spicy tones, earth and wet oak and cedar. Body has excellent lift with soft and linear structure, tart raspberry tones tight and slightly acerbic tannins; medium plus finish.
Will wait a year to try again and decant next bottle

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass ("Fruit" day): Bright ruby with purplish tints.
Elegant wild petite red and blue berry fruits. Very airy and ethereal indeed. For me this has the signature smoke + dried leafy + sous bois notes from the vintage. This is delivering good depth with secondary notes on top layer with the underlying fruits. Reductive notes upfront that blew off quickly. One of the top nose from Burgundies at this age in my view.
Great follow-through on the palate especially on the more detailed blue / black berry fruity flavours with peels providing extra depth and energy. Super suave tannins here. A complete wine already.
This is noticeably 'better' overall in terms of depth and layers of nose and flavours than the last bottle tried about 1 year ago. Will clearly be an even greater bottle in another 5-10 years, but I always believe the 2013 vintage burgundies in the hands of top producer would be amazingly enjoyable at relatively early age.
93-94 points to me.
1 hour upon opening, 1/3 left: Retaining its characters per above as expected. I would retain this at 93-94 points, but overall more towards 94 points now for its drinkability.

1/6, good cork. Pale/medium ruby/purple, pale rim. Youthful nose - bilberry, touch of blackcurrant, florals, a sense of freshly tilled soil. Medium bodied, elegant, fine-boned, pure dark fruits, touch of liquorice, firm tannins, some black pepper on the good length finish. Excellent.

Lighter in body than other recent vintages, but otherwise typical profile here. Red fruit with spice and quite delicious. Has some more room to run, but really good now.

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Bright pale ruby to the eyes.
On the nose freshly crushed red berry fruits like raspberries and strawberries infused with distinctive dried leaves like floral notes, and tea like herbal notes from this vintage. Touch of spice and fur-like animale notes that make the liquid ever so alluring.
Racy acidity and highly minerality that keep the wine refreshing. A little lean on palate and a nicely clean finish. To me, these reflect the vintage and “terroir” well without sacrificing any of the delicacies I’ve come to expect from this great producer.
What a lovely bottle. 92-93 points to me.

For en nese. Dyp og nyansert, meget elegant nese av røde, modne frukter, kalkete mineralitet, meget floral, samt asiatiske krydder. Lys, delikat frukt. Utrolig sjarmerende. Kvalitetsmessig i premier cru land. Saftig frukt i munnen med et nydelig bitt. Lett vin i munnen med en herlig fruktkonsentrasjon. Så lett på tå og likevel intens. Kongevin

I love it. This is showing it's beauty in it's youth. Not the nose but the palate. The present bitters and acidity is so nice. Lively and fresh. But very tasty and full of fresh pressed purple fruit.

Opulent nose, deeper and more complex than I remember a year ago. The palate is just a little bit tight though, this might start to shut down a little? Clear tannins and massive minerality on the finish

This has a very pretty nose of violets, black cherry and spiced plum. In the mouth it is velvety and there's excellent depth of flavour. Just below the flesh is stony minerality and it has great drive and really fans out on the finish.

This is my first taste of the sisters wine; and overall I must say it is quite delightful; the nose is classic Vosne; spice and fruit dominate the nose, but there are subtle floral hints along with a touch of tea leaves, earth, and minerality. The palate is also very good showing nice depth for the vintage, still with a relatively noticeable tannins, but has nice fruit and acidity to help balance. I think this will probably be better with another year or two in the cellar, but as with most of the 2013s this is not a long term candidate.

Terrific. What a difference a year makes. The aromas are now coming out in droves. The wine is still that "crunchy" kind of red fruit that I love when young. Great acidity makes it refreshing in the mouth. Not super long but very satisfying.

Notably youthful hue. With a little coaxing the nose teases with hints of cherry, spice and incense and even a little bacon fat. In the mouth mid weight with a very suave texture masking a fairly serious structure, as aristocratic as a Villages wine could be, linear, focused, bright energy, an almost claretty austerity leading to a focused and very persistent finish. A serious but very satisfying wine.

Lots of red berry with Asian five spice and anise. Vibrant and tense, but slightly firm right now at the very end. I will hold my remaining bottle until at least 2019.

Engaging nose of pomegranate, Chinese 5 spice powder and ginger. It has good flesh up front and plenty of rocky mineral action down back. A lovely Vosne with good aging potential.

Mugneret-Gibourg Cellar Visit and Tasting (Vosne-Romanee - Burgundy): Pre-bottling tasting at the domaine. Bottling scheduled for tomorrow. ML did not finish until Sept 2014. Bright red fruit with savory spice and fresh herbs. Elegantly textured. Nobody consistently produces better Vosne Villages.
