2004 Domaine Dujac Morey St. Denis

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Monday, October 26, 2015 - Burg v Kiwi Pinot Noir: Served blind to friends beside the 2009 Kiwa. On opening, on bouquet and palate the wine seemed flawed. But after decanting and four hours air time it was in much better shape. Served blind, none of the tasters initially picked the vintage or saw any pyrazines issue. However, once everyone knew what it was, they did notice a herby or minty note to the wine. It was not overpowering and did not spoil the wine. An attractive, light bouquet of raspberry, strawberry and a little dry straw. On palate, a pleasant, lighter, obviously Burgundian village level wine (tasters had it as a Gevrey). Less than medium weight, showing good acidity. The flavours were herby, earthy and a bit funky, with raspberries and loganberries. The wine was showing no immediate sign of falling over but I would drink it soon. I wouldn't expect it to improve.
