Saturday, September 24, 2022 - Really interesting nose of incense, cologne, fresh tree bark, damp earth, blue fruits, freshly crushed spices. The palate is dark, with spicy berries, a hint of a musky cologne in the mid palate and while there’s subtle tertiary notes, I think there’s a lot of life left here. Texturally there’s high tannins that aren’t quite ripe, but also aren’t astringent — you’ll feel them without being abrasive on the palate. Med+ acidity keeps everything in check here.

Overall it’s a wine with a lot of interest and expressiveness — it’s not super seamless or elegant, but it’s got a rustic quality with a ton of specificity. Very good.
