Friday, April 19, 2019 - Popped and poured at cellar temp. All business on the nose with restrained lemony fruit, smoke, vanilla and slight nuttiness. Very moderate oak, which is nice. Quite mouth-filling with very respectable viscosity, this is no featherweight despite its lowly appellation. Acidity does not stick out but it is definitely there to provide appropriate lift and drive. Concentrated, firm and powerful with a spicy finish. Deliciously savory despite being fairly ripe-fruited and while on the rich side maintains a good balance. Very good for its level.
