Thursday, July 15, 2021 - Scotch-like gold color. Loads of burnt matchstick on the nose, with some butter and a touch of honey creeping out underneath. Med-to-medium-plus body, medium-low acid. Rich thick mouthfeel, with loads of butter, dried apricots and orange marmalade on the front, picking up vanilla and toasty oak mid-palate with quite a lot of bitterness lingering through the finish. Really a mixed bag - the front palate fruit was beautiful but the finish was like an inexpensive scotch which really took away from the overall experience.
