Scotch-like gold color. Loads of burnt matchstick on the nose, with some butter and a touch of honey creeping out underneath. Med-to-medium-plus body, medium-low acid. Rich thick mouthfeel, with loads of butter, dried apricots and orange marmalade on the front, picking up vanilla and toasty oak mid-palate with quite a lot of bitterness lingering through the finish. Really a mixed bag - the front palate fruit was beautiful but the finish was like an inexpensive scotch which really took away from the overall experience.

Consistent with my prior note, this was a really nice California Chardonnay with mineral, lemon peel and a touch of butter. There was a nice background acidity and I wish I had another bottle to experiment with by laying down for an additional 5+ years. I believe this will have a long life.

Still delicious as it was cellared properly. Shades of pear and definitely butter. Excellent.

On the big, buttery and rich end of the spectrum. Lots of wood on this, detracted from the rest of the bottle.
