Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - wirewine: I received this wine as a gift tonight, so we decided to drink it. There was a little leakage and fungus on the end of the cork. The cork was stained all the way to the end. No vinegar nose or anything that would indicate the wine was gone. I decanted the wine and let it sit for half and hour. Tight, tight, tight but good color. I kept checking the wine aromas and the color for any changes indicating browning or oxidation. In two hours the wine darkened in color and the tannis started showing, the aroma was classic bordeaux, cedar, tar. I poured the wine back into the bottle and I am going to try it tomorrow night. I think by then it will be close to drinking. I will reserve rating this one until tomorrow.
