Friday, January 3, 2014 - I have not liked most all the Bordeaux wines I have consumed, although relative to other wines I haven't many of them and none have been high on the classification list. But I bought a case of 2005s to give them a try as the folks at K&L (and many other places) raved about them. Well, now after a few years of aging I can now say that I'm a fan. Although not from a top-notch chateau, this wine has the fruit of a mellow CA Cab yet the complexity and "good funk" that I was looking for.

6/22/2014 7:50:00 AM - It is precisely the CA Cab aspect that made me sell this wine. I have nothing against California wine, but I bought this expecting a Bordeaux character, which is completely missing. If I had wanted California I would have bought some, not this. Very sad that a well made wine in the past has gone to become so characterless.
