Saturday, June 7, 2014 - The first bottle of 5 dozen. Very disappointing indeed. Overripe and over extracted. At first, chocolate and stewed plums. Muddled and not particularly pleasant. I don't think it will improve. Will try another bottle or two but I think it's one to sell. Another casualty of the Parker influence? Such a pity, the 2000 was terrific quality for the money. Got quite a bit of the 09 too, I wonder if that's as bad as this too.

For now it is a light wine which needs certain notice and perhaps even sympathy. Next time it has a real chance to metamorphose into an awful even if extraordinary wine. Would approach your 05 - of which 6 btls are sleeping in my cellar - step by step. Good luck.
