Monday, June 1, 2009 - This whopper is still too early to drink, but we wanted to try it anyway. After two hours in the carafe, it was still a little too tight, but as it opened up over the evening, it unfolded some of its future charms. Dark fruit, tobacco, black cherry, hints of licorice. Being an adolescent, it wasn't very communicative and although pleasant to drink, it wasn't until the following morning when it revealed more of its power: a velvetty, unctuous dark berry, leather ... very heady and promising. But there's no way I'll open another before 2014.
