90 Points

Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - Intense aromatics and densely, layered flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, blackberry, cassis, caramel, earth, cedar, and leather. Picks up a whiff of Band-Aid in the decanter. Displays a full body, bright acidity, a beautiful texture and granitic minerality throughout. A mid-palate of wet rocks is followed by a graphite backnote that lingers on the black cherry, mocha, and coffee finish. The flavors continue to coat the inside of your mouth long after the last sip, giving the residual effect of having eaten a bowl of black cherries. This is exuberantly good. Lost most of its fruit the second night.
