96 Points

Friday, August 19, 2022 - Drunk together with Dujacs CdR 2014 and right now Rousseau outperformed it - not by much but on the day it was a couple of points above

Very very light and red fruited for a Rousseau - cherries, raspberry with hints of green pepper and tomato still. Absolutely beautiful integrated oak and silky soft tannins.

I was really surprised on how open and approachable it was at this quite early stage and some of the characteristics you sometime find in you Rousseau like green stilked, herbal and opulent wine with more spice than fruit and high tannins was nowhere to be traced here. Tasters was equally surprised.
Surely can be kept for many years but if one wishes to try a “young” GC from Rousseau this is a good place to start.
A true delight and true Grand Cru from a master!!
