Thursday, January 30, 2014 - Butterscotch, glue and slight apricot on the nose. Mid to light bodied, relative to Sauternes. The palate is mostly dominated by a great creamy vanilla taste, with ripe pineapple and honey. It has nice botrytis and a sharp acidic note on the finish. The lighter style won't necessarily put it in the classic realm of Sauternes, but it is great when you don't want a dense cloying of style. Think of it as having sorbet in stead of ice cream. Crazy bargain.
