93 Points

Sunday, July 27, 2008 - color: garnet-yellow; nose; apricot, honey, dried pineapple, and loads of flower scents; super-smooth and plush on the palate - lofty - very concentrated and flavorful; nice acidity; not too cloying or heavy. Nice super-lengthy finish bringing lemon reduction sauce (like a Piccata) for minutes, literally. Could benefit from years more aging and add even more complexity. I had another glass tonight (2 days later), and I must say this is exquisite wine. Now picking up some nutty elements on the nose and entry; more lemon on the finish with spice complexities (clove, etc.); but it's just as lofty, elevated and balanced. I'm ready now to score this 95+ with great pleasure.

1/19/08: Want a world-class treat? Try this one (after it's been corked and open for several days/weeks - which mellows it out some - with a grilled egg-and-cheese sandwich. Sprinkle on a pinch or two Herbs de Provence to boost this exquisite pairing even further out into the far reaches of the utterly sublime.
