2012 Mission Hill Quatrain

Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

82 Points

Friday, December 29, 2017 - Ouf, this was…bad…if I’m really nice, I’ll give it 82 pts. It’s almost as if the wine was past its prime. Tannins are super soft, very thin on the palate…and the nose was almost repulsive (my mother said garbage can!). It’s probably a bad bottle, but I’m just unable to identify the problem.

12/30/2017 12:49:00 PM - I don't buy the Mission Hill higher end stuff since they jacked the prices up. Compendium was my preference, but it's hard to believe they'd bottle poor wine and expect $70! Ouf, as you like to say!

Spot on with your assessment. Unfortunate.

4/4/2020 6:52:00 PM - Sad to read that it was not only my bottle that was off...I stopped buying Quatrain after this experience. Still love most of what Mission Hill produces...had a bottle of Oculus 2014 yesterday and it was excellent (softer and more evolved than what I was expecting, but excellent).
