Tuesday, December 31, 2019 - Deep gold. The 1995 Krug is rich and ripe, with baked apple, butterscotch, smoke, and cinnamon. Despite the ripeness there's excellent acidity and mineral cut, keeping the palate energetic and lighter than the weight of its bold fruit would otherwise suggest. Nineteen ninety five is rightly overshadowed by 1996 but I suspect we underrate it. These wines are now drinking very well today.
