Sunday, March 5, 2017 - This wine must be decanted for an hour or more, it is completely wasted as a pop & pour. Also, I don't think it has yet entered its peak drinking window, which is probably 2019-2030
Beautiful dark ruby Sangiovese color with black hints; sweet cherry on entry, it quickly morphs to a pleasant and savory tart cherry flavor with nice dried herb fragrances, earth, firm but integrated tannins with a bit of dust, medium body, angular structure and medium length. A delicious, understated and subtle food wine that will probably – like most Monsanto CCRs - evolve beautifully for another 10-12 years.
