Wednesday, December 20, 2017 - Deep ruby colour, incredibly young appearance, just showing the quality of the 05 vintage. Somewhat muted nose dominated by blueberries and blanckberries with tones of nuts (!), minerals (graphite) and coffee. Rather classic northern, Cabernet dominated, Medoc. Medium to full bodied, quite dry, lacks some fruit to cover the tannins and the alcohol. Still there is a nice aftertaste of black berries and coffee that lingers for a quite long time. However, I expected more from this wine. Could it be the bottle? The wine becomes more pleasant when drunk with a good steak, but then it is on the verge of being anonymous. Not very impressed.
