Monday, December 25, 2023 - It's been 4 years since I last opened a 2013 Seavey Caravan. Opened a magnum last evening with friends for Christmas. Open and decanted for 2 hours before drinking. Upon opening the nose was mostly muted with slight hints of Seavey's typical dark currents.

As also typical when I drink a Seavey Cabernet (Caravan and Estate) the wine got better as the evening progressed. A couple comments from some of the tasters. "Dad have you tried this wine? it's really good." Then the dad told me it was smooth with not a rough edge to be found anywhere. Needless to say it was a hit and the 1.5 liter bottle was empty before dinner was over.

This wine is in a good spot right now. If you open one give it a couple hours of air. If you have them in the cellar they are fine their also.
