Third review of this wine for me. Ironically it's trending lower, this bottle just doesn't have the complexity of the others. Interesting to note that this bottle had no noticeable crusting or sediment like the previous ones I reviewed did.

It's been 4 years since I last opened a 2013 Seavey Caravan. Opened a magnum last evening with friends for Christmas. Open and decanted for 2 hours before drinking. Upon opening the nose was mostly muted with slight hints of Seavey's typical dark currents.
As also typical when I drink a Seavey Cabernet (Caravan and Estate) the wine got better as the evening progressed. A couple comments from some of the tasters. "Dad have you tried this wine? it's really good." Then the dad told me it was smooth with not a rough edge to be found anywhere. Needless to say it was a hit and the 1.5 liter bottle was empty before dinner was over.
This wine is in a good spot right now. If you open one give it a couple hours of air. If you have them in the cellar they are fine their also.

This wine had the same taste profile as the bottle I drank one year ago. This indicates to me that this wine has at least another decade of growing into itself. The 2013 wines from Napa were so powerful that my pattern of waiting ten years before drinking a top flight Napa cab will have five years added to it. I am glad I have another six bottles to "observe" over the next decade.
Popped and poured at a restaurant with family. Didn't have time to give this a proper decant.
At first, flavors were muted - black cherry, cocoa and resolved tannins. With some air time in the glass (45+ minutes), improved significantly. Have some left in the bottle to try tonight.
