2013 Antinori Tignanello

Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

80 Points

Monday, May 1, 2023 - Disappointing. Drab, lacking fruit and structure, worse with extended decanting. Presumably past its prime.

5/1/2023 11:21:00 AM - A friend had good luck with a 2019 after a brief decant, which made me think this wine is better drunk on the early side.

5/1/2023 1:52:00 PM - There is a chance this was an off bottle but there is little chance the wine is past its peak. Describing it as "drab" or "lacking structure" argues in favor of the off-bottle theory. Such a young Tignanello with the vivid, snappy acidity I have tasted twice in this 2013 really could not be mistaken as drab. Tignanello may be a little light on the QPR scale, but I've yet to experience it as "drab."

    5/1/2023 1:59:00 PM - Exactly Randy. As for QPR, I paid '13, '15 & "16 for $100 Cdn ($80 USD) a bottle. I consider it being acceptable
