Saturday, September 30, 2017 - Two consistent bottles at restaurant. Pnp and immediately very open and accessible. I suspect a decant at this point in time might bring out more tannins. Medium body with dark fruit, plenty of herbs, some oak needing a bit more time to integrate but very pleasant to drink already. Smooth, fine to medium tannins. Another very solid Tignanello, the consistency year on year is remarkable, having said that, am scratching my head somewhat as to where Monica Larner sees the 96 points in this particular vintage.
Would give the wine another 12 months to fully absorb the remaining oak, and then drink over the following 5 years, am not a fan of aging Tignanello much beyond the 10 year mark. 91-92
