Friday, November 17, 2017 - Light garnet with some lilacs on the nose. Off dry with a lightly sweet fruit, light body and tannins, well balanced with a soft mouth feel of slightly metallic stony mineral. The fruit has a bit of cranberry, rhubarb, pomegranate fermented leaving some rs to temper the acids and tannins. OK, overnight a transformation into a more recognizable Goodfellow style with some bright fruit and while not austere is getting to reserved territory, nice acid and rs has left, just some nice soft fruit with a hint of cane tannins to give a good balance, a whiff of tobacco on the last glass. Drinking very well and up a couple points overnight.

11/17/2017 8:51:00 AM - Not rs like in an auslese, but just a touch. Not as reserved as most of Marcus's wines that I like. Most of the '14s are fruitier than what I have been drinking, but very enjoyable in the near term while I wait for the '11s and '13s to come around.
