Light in color and body. Fruit (cherry) has dissipate, leaving a somewhat bland wine. Acid is intact After a couple hours a slightly sour cherry seems to be coming forward.

Upon opening this was malo forward and opulent. Blind I wouldn’t recognize as Goodfellow. 45 min later the acid took over and was more what I expected. Good weight and bright acidity with typical balance. Was pretty full on the palate with apple, lemon/lime and a touch of brown butter. Finish was refreshing and mouth watering. No hurry on this. In a great drinking window and the splash I had the next day still had energy. 90+

I wanted to keep this bottle for longer, but it was about the only budget WV PN in the house (I’ve been off my game), so its time had come. Drank this over three days, stored in the fridge in between.
This is truly excellent, and a style I really enjoy. On the nose it’s red and blue fruits (including something very distinctive - cranberry?), fruit leather, fresh thyme, and dried spices, along with a leafy, earthy character with a hint of smoke. Or something. The point is that there’s a lot going on here.
On the palate there’s definitely a sense of the vintage’s richness, in terms of intensity of flavor, but not in terms of body/alcohol/heaviness. Fresh mixed berries muddled together, earthiness and smoke, a hefty dose of very fine tannins, nice cleansing acidity.
This is a heck of a deal and I wish I had more!
Drink or hold.
