Tuesday, March 28, 2023 - Pop and pour. This is much better than the last bottle I opened several years ago. It has really smoothed out and absorbed some of the rather harsh tannins of its youth. The nose is quite pretty with bright cherry and other red fruit. While initially somewhat thin on the palate, with a little air it opens up quite nicely, following with notes of cherry and strawberry confit, developing some brambly but not offensive tannins. This unresolved structure, however, does detract somewhat from an otherwise elegant and feminine wine.

Good now… We’ll see how it is in a few hours… will likely benefit from several years of cellar aging. Looks like it is in the first peak of maturity.
