Saturday, February 11, 2023 - Classics (Tøyen, Oslo): Double decanted 2-3 hours prior to dinner

The nose jumps out of the glass with immensely deep purple fruits. Blackcurrant, cherry, pencil shavings, juniper, asphalt and a pronounced minerality, truly a showstopper nose. Later on leather emerged alongside sous bois.

Supremely smooth mouth feel, close to full bodied with perfect harmony. Dusty tannins, a slight cola note, crushed rocks and an enormously long finish driven by perfectly ripe cherries.
The mouthfeel is just so luxurious.

This kept on giving throughout the night, no hurry, though finally it seems 2005 has come around, drinking beautifully now.
