Monday, December 25, 2023 - Although I am a fan of Ch SHL in general, this bottle was not as vibrant as I expected. Decanted for an hour before serving with braised Lamb Shanks (definitely a happy pairing), but it took another half an hour to start showing quintessential secondary and tertiary aged Bordeaux characteristics. Although very enjoyable, it never really opened up to the extent I was anticipating; however, his may well be just due to bottle variation (wish I had more of this vintage so that I could further explore this theory).
