Friday, November 17, 2023 - 2000 Clos du Marquis Bordeaux St Julien

Cellared since release.
Coravined on Nov 13, 14, 15, finished Nov 16.
Deep purple to the rim in the glass. The nose featured black fruit and hints of tobacco.
The wine was full bodied with rich fruit and impressive creme de Cassis. The was good acidity and good balance, and integrated supporting tannins to go along with a 10 second finish. This second wine of Leoville Las Cases was extremely enjoyable, seemed youthful, and probably drinking at its apex now. I believe this is true of most 2000 Bordeaux that I've had tasted recently. In my opinion it has another 5 to ? 10 years ahead.
