Monday, October 11, 2004 - A deep, dark Merlot. It was full of blackberry fruit, clove, licorice and spice. The initial feel on the palate was powerful and it had a long finish. It was a little tannic initially coming out of the bottle (no decanting) but opened up very nicely after 15 minutes. It was consumed at dinner side by side with a 2000 Leonetti Merlot and compared favorably. This wine appeared to have plenty of life left.
