Sunday, October 24, 2021 - Delicious. Like a clean, very ripe, rhone wine. The major differences are that there aren't many savory, herbal notes like you'd expect from a true, old vine French wine. Nose does have some lavender. This is new world in the sense that the fruit is ripe and powerful but its not over-extracted either. It's full in its delivery, driven with a core of black banana peel, blueberry, cranberry, and chocolate on the plate. Structure is legit with the right amount of tannins and a mineral streak to balance the prodigious fruit. Label says 15.9% alcohol but its so integrated, I wouldn't have guessed under 14%. Acid is medium high and rocks with food (coq au vin in our case). So pure. Loved it!
