Saturday, March 18, 2017 - Sat, 03/18/17, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): “90% Merlot + 5% ea C.S. & C.F. from an 8 ha plot with sandy & clayey soils in the commune of Pleine Selve;”

N: FRAGRANTLY ripe, plummy frt, though stamina MAY be somewhat lacking?

P: Med, poss LM, body; Nice frt on front with some structure mid-P which init builds, then finally unfolds to a Long, very slightly faint finish. As P is not currently up to the aromas, I'm thinking 6-9 mos might improve it? Otherwise, ok, but not (presently) particularly noteworthy. 88-90 pts Vinous (Galloni, 4/1/15) & 87-88 Suckling. [As of early Mar '20, wine-searcher still shows 2 sources @ $13 & $14.82].
