Saturday, April 13, 2024 - This is tasting better than I thought it would given the consensus window was “Drink by 2022” and I’m pouring it 4/2024.

While pouring my first glass a lovely aroma of fruitiness wafted up. “Hmm this is definitely Pinot.” Yup, looked at the wine info and it is indeed Pinot.

The color is on the more translucent side, as with many pinots. It still had a robust redness to it, not redish-brown like some pinots.

There is a wee hint of a sourness on the first sip, which fades quickly to a very light fruity grape. Almost a hint of Concord (GASP) flavor, but in a good way. Very light in tannins. Nice long slow legs.

I’m liking it. It’s not the best wine I’ve had, but it is enjoyable. I only wish I had opened it a few years ago so I could have tried it in its prime.

Believe the 2022 window .. it is very likely moving well past its prime. Drink up now and enjoy!
