Friday, December 24, 2010 - Decanted 90 minutes before Christmas Eve dinner and consumed over the following two hours. This was an evening with close family, and no notes taken. Still a vibrant ruby color. Opened with a little barnyard that blew off by the time we got to it. Dark fruit, cedar, mocha and a bit of baking spice with a long finish. I've had a four of these over the years from a case purchased on release. At its best, this is a 95+ point wine that's like drinking liquid silk. This bottle did not get there, but it was still excellent. Won't rush to finish my remaining bottles, but it's time to start drinking these up.
