Friday, October 16, 2020 - Deep purple color. Restrained nose intially that resembled an old house, though this blew off after time in the glass bringing on some violet notes. Medium-plus body and very harsh on the palate with strong grainy tannins and medium-low acidity, resulting in an unpleasantly heavy mouthfeel. Some darker fruit, almost pruney on the front intermixed with graphite notes that turned thin and very bitter mid-palate and ended with a bit of heat. Unpleasant and was even worse on day 2. Reminiscent of a $10 grocery story AOC Bordeaux. My wife said the only thing she enjoyed about this was that it contained alcohol.
