Saturday, August 27, 2022 - Been a year since my last bottle. I said then I'd wait 2 years til the next, but I just couldn't. Gave this bottle a 3 hour decant and it was singing. Beautiful Bdx nose of cab franc herbs and florals and palate feel of velour like merlot. Classic graphite, florals and orange peel on the nose. Dark red cherry fruit on the palate with perfectly balanced tannins and acidity. Very together as most '14s are right now and very enjoyable. Carol lamented that it was 'gone to soon'. Glad there's more in the cellar for later!

8/28/2022 9:23:00 AM - FB.....I was 'spoiled', maybe some would say 'ruined' back in '17 when we went to Bdx. It really opened my eyes to just how diverse and good red blends could be. Then, as luck would have it, I started to stumble across some Napa/Sonoma blends that really floated my boat in a similar fashion. Favia Cerro Sur, this Arietta H Block, old Blankiet Prop Red, etc. Have not had Morgado or Blackbird. Have recently picked up some older Kapscandy Prop Reds to try, but they won't be here for a few more months.
