Sunday, August 21, 2016 - Casali is Crocker & Starr's Malbec blend (69% Malbec, 25% Cab. Sauvignon and 6% Cab Franc). In the glass, the wine is an inky purple. It offers a nose and flavors of blackberry, blueberry, tobacco, dark chocolate, vanilla and just a hint of bacon. It's decidedly different (in a hedonistically, satisfying way) from the more austere, single varietal Malbec or Malbec blends from Argentina. It's pedestrian to use the word "WOW" to describe any wine. But, in the case of the Casali . . . WOW.
