95 Points

Friday, December 8, 2006 - I just couldn't wait! A delicious mid-gold colour. Plentiful mousse. Sweet, deep, smokey, yeasty nose. Yeast comes to dominate. Very mature-smelling, despite its youth. A high, stoney-mineral finish. The flavour is just the same - very balanced, mature, sweet and complex. Liquid bread, with smoke and secondary fruit. Delicious, and much more 'mature' tasting than my last bottle. Absolutely first-rate, delicious wine, in the same class as '97 Bollinger, but maybe more distinctive. I just can't shake the smokey-bonfirey overtones! Delicious, and for £50 (I got it on offer), absolutely brilliant value.
