Sunday, August 27, 2023 - Pink rim, ruby red center. Fragrant red berries, strawberry, prune, tobacco, leather and tar. Fresh and elegant. Medium-bodied, medium silky tannin, and medium-high acidity. Long finish. Balanced and well made.

We drank it together with a Roagna 2012 Barbaresco Pajè Vecchie Viti. It was not a fair match because the Roagna was a single vineyard and Gaja was a village wine. The Roagna was much better, but the Gaja was still wonderful.
