Nose was a bit stinky at first, with slight grapefruit and unripe melon. It became more grassy as it opened up. On the palate, this had really high acid, and hints of oak. More melon with citrus flavors. I guessed a California sauv Blanc, 2015 or younger. It was not clear that it was a sauv Blanc, but I couldn’t get to Chardonnay. Obviously quite wrong. This was a fun surprise and a good wine.
