JD Friday Wine Group - John C host (City Club FW - Wine Room): Served blind - light gold in the glass. Nose was a bit stinky at first, with slight grapefruit and unripe melon. It became more grassy as it opened up. On the palate, this had really high acid, and hints of oak. More melon with citrus flavors. I guessed a California sauv Blanc, 2015 or younger. It was not clear that it was a sauv Blanc, but I couldn’t get to Chardonnay. Obviously quite wrong. This was a fun surprise and a good wine.

Pale yellow slight viscosity. Floral bouquet sweetness on the nose. Hint of dill upon oxidation. Slight acidity but light on the palate. Hint of oak on the palate short linger on the palate. Paired well with chicken in a aged comte cheese crust.
