93 Points

Thursday, September 17, 2020 - Pop and pour and drank over 2 hours. It was great for the first half hour, but then went downhill after that. Pretty youthful at first with and amazing finish of leather, cigar box and dark fruit. The nose got more intense after 15 minutes, but then the complexity and amazing finish disappeared. The nose went away after that. Drink now and do not decant.

9/20/2020 3:29:00 PM - I looked up your review and you mentioned you decanted for 3-4 hours. As I mentioned in mine, I did not decant and started drinking it right away. It was a great complex wine for the first 30 minutes, with a great nose and finish (above 93). After 1 hour, the complexity and nose was gone, and it was rather boring. I'm always hesitant about decanting older wines as I've seen this more than once. I usually taste first and decant only if the wine isn't opened up.

9/20/2020 4:49:00 PM - louis......I usually taste at the pnp and every hour it's open as I like to enjoy the journey with these great BDX wines. I don;t remember this being good at any stage of the afternoon. It never did much of anything from what I remember. Thank you for your input! Much appreciated!
