I kept thinking about Pinots and Syrah from the Central Coast back around 2003 and 2004. This has the sense that the ripeness got away from the team a bit. They tried to combat it with water and tartaric acids. It doesn't work completely here leaving this somewhat undone and without much varietal character. Difficult to enjoy. Consistent over two nights.
