Sunday, July 27, 2008 - Mish Mash of wines (My house): Dark and youthful looking in the glass. Nose of pepper and sautéed shitake mushrooms, hints of tar and roasted coffee beans were very well integrated and showed nice focus. After a couple hours some nice precise lilacs started to turn the wine a bit more floral and feminine. In the mouth the wine was smooth and elegant with great balance. Overall the fruit was showing very dark and deep with a clear resolve that the wine can benefit from years and years in the cellar. Lots of upside here.
