Saturday, October 6, 2007 - Brought it to 11 Madison and had it decanted for at least an hour before being served. What an incredibly unique vineyard this is because you can smell and taste the most beautiful earthy terroir. There is this unbelievable pure fruit flavor of boysenberry/dark rasberry/violet that is like an unearthly perfume that surrounds you as you drink it. Rich, full bodied and unbelievably plush in texture, this puppy is beginning to reach maturity in my opinion but the only issue is the high level of alcohol that permeates the finish leaving a hint of harshness in an otherwise gorgeous wine. Without that, it might be perfect, but what else is new in overly alcoholic Napa Valley.
