Sunday, October 30, 2011 - Bought for my dads 60th. Was really quite spectacular. Was expecting it to be just drinkable and it was very good. Great color still. Poured a little light but in the glass it was a beautiful purple/red color, not really bricking at all.
Showing great layers of mushroom and earth and sour cherry. Actually still had pretty tannins. Very smooth on the palate and a real pleasure to drink wine of this age.
I'd guess it will drink well for a bit yet. Cork was showing signs of past seepage.
