Friday, February 21, 2020 - February 2020 - peaking right now, this I-4 was quite excellent and outshone other $50+ Orin Swift wines at dinner (unanimous consensus). While it had plenty of fruit, it was a balanced profile between primary and secondary flavors with hints of tertiary leather. It is definitely in the crowd pleasing Phinney style, but that’s not a bad thing for wines made well. I think there is enough tannin in here to last another 3 years and will likely benefit from another year in the bottle. Full bodied, very dark red color.
