Saturday, July 31, 2021 - Finished summer evening with this to celebrate mother's 80th. Lots of fruit, nuts and umami coming from the balanced acidity. Flavours of mandarin, apricot, then the vanilla, lightly grilled notes associated with the long élevage in barrel. The latter more nuttier and subtle flavours were not as present in this vintage as in others, but that first burst in the mouth is unique to Yquem.
