Full bodied, ripe blackberry fruit with uplifting citrus and acidity, fine grained tannin and creosote on the finish. The barest hint of soil at the end. Quite a modern impression. If I had tasted this blind, I would have hazarded a guess for northern Rhone something. Had someone said it was Burgundy, a burlier appellation might have come to mind, but Chambolle would not have been on the radar at all.
